Side One, Track One

By celebrationrock

It begins as the stylus drops gently onto the vinyl track. If the bass is really good, there’s an audible clunk, and then surface noise. And then the music. Side one, track one. It begins.

What a great start! This wonderful story has many chapters, all of them worthy of your artful and clever narrative.

I eagerly await reading about celebrity interviews, some of the great features you did (like “take a walk”), the Spanish Castle features, some of the lighter moments (Tom Kita’s: “Do you have anything he can read?), Wendy’s birth, WRGM, WRFK, syndication, the change to Celebration Rock, the religious media conferences, and more.

Thanks, Jeff, for taking the time to launch this meaningful project!

This is great, Jeffrey! (And thanks for helping me get here to read it!) Interesting about the “adults” comments regarding the music. I remember literally stumbling onto the show and being much more interested in what you said than the music you played. And I was a music lover, as you know!

I’m like Jim — looking forward to more.

    Hey Jeff…
Your blog is great! I’m learning all kinds of things….LOL.
Richmond is a lesser place since you’ve been gone, but I’m sure you’re happy up there. And now with all that spare time…..
